Communication, the heart of modern business

Communication is often mentioned as the key reason for bigger corporate failures and mishaps.

On day to day basis, working on any project, especially relating to Internet based projects, requirement always exists for communicating with people and machines in the most appropriate manner.

Communication has, in say last two decades, become a 'tangible output' of a modern business.

It is used for creating effective presentations, which are used for business development purposes as well as for communicating with (virtual) teams of employees (developers, designers, managers and clients) who all work towards the same goal of achieving a given business objective.

Working on continuously improving communication quality and understanding of what works and what does not work in communication is, in my eyes, a crucial skill and quality of a modern employee and especially business owner.

I have personally gone to a range of communication workshops, including Dale Carnegie leadership courses, which taught me about the real values of modern leaders (most of which are directly or indirectly related to communication skills).

It is important to understand that communication takes many different forms in the modern world and each one of the methods of communication has its pros and cons.

Understanding these aspects will help anyone improve their day to day interaction with people they are working with and being able to achieve more with less time, effort, energy and (perhaps most importantly) with as little conflict as possible.

This is just an introductory post about communication.

I will spend much more time in future writing about this topic into quite a detail in order to try and outline some of the most common communication related problems and solutions which anyone is likely to 'meet' in their day to day lives.
