AJAX photo previewing with Lightbox

We have recently upgraded Flexewebs CMS to feature AJAX photo previewing library called Lightbox.

Common feature to many Web 2.0 web sites (like Flickr) are various cool and functional preview and slideshow features which cater for easier and more pleasurable web browsing.

Yesterday Flexewebs CMS obtained one of these features, which enables a quick 'skim' through a set of larger photos placed in the system without having to leave the list page while doing so.

Integration of Lightbox 2.0 was easy and seamless, while working really well within our framework. An example of Lightbox feature is best observed in our on-line picture gallery.

All you need to do is to click on the small picture and you will be presented with a view of the bigger picture and a chance to click through the rest of the pictures available in that list.

Clicking away from the preview box will bring you back to the list page on the web site.

We have also left a separate, different option for viewing pictures, which you can access by clicking on the title for each picture and seeing each picture in a separate page with a longer explanation of what is on the picture.

It is important to outline that we were able to include picture descriptions into the Lightbox preview window without any problems, which is a real nice feature to have.

No changes were required to the core of our system and everything is still working as it did before, fully dynamically driven and without any additional complications.

Would be interesting to know what you think about this latest addition to our system. Any thoughts?
