Flexewebs CMS from today features friendly URLs as part of the system.
Lets get friendly
Using Apache feature known as Mod Rewrite we have been able to implement some pretty clever code in order to make Flexewebs CMS even better today.
From now on it is possible to use what are known as 'friendly URLs' in order to browse through Flexewebs.com web site and therefore any of the Flexewebs CMS powered web sites.
What does this mean in practice? This means that people will be able to use some easy to remember URLs in order to access some common pages on our CMS systems. Example is that the new URL for our portfolio from now on is simply www.flexewebs.com/portfolio.
Furthermore, this implementation feature will have a very positive impact on the Search Engine Optimisation for Flexewebs, as all the URLs on the site will be friendly and therefore easy for search engines like Google to pick up.
Final major positive aspect to this implementation is the fact that the security implementation for Flexewebs CMS will also be stepped up through this approach as hacking through URLs will be made much more difficult.
This implementation also brings us a step closer to starting to code our own blogging solution, featured as part of Flexewebs CMS itself! Wish us luck on bringing you some more fun stuff accross here very soon!
