Semantic and ubiqutous web is with us right now and we are able to make the most of it for your business
Recently we have been working on developing an events listing and management module for Flexewebs CMS.
A common requirement for small businesses these days is that they would like to be able to administer various events on their web sites.
We require that functionality to list which events we are going to be present at, inform our users about our whereabouts and simply keep a log of events which we can share with other like-minded people.
We are currently half-way through development of the first version of this module within our CMS.
We are already able to add events to database, have a list of events on an events listing page with a link to complete information about the event on a separate page.
Everything has been implemented to our strict development standards and will be optimised for various sharing purposes.
We are learning through this task that various 'standards' for sharing events related information on the web are nowhere near ready for proper use on the web and there is much need in properly standardising various XML formats which ought to be used for this type of information.
As usual, we will try and influence W3C to push for better standardisation of this aspect of information, so it can be easier for developers and businesses worldwide to communicate in a common 'events based language'.
