Mickey Mouse and corporate social responsibility

Mickey Mouse and corporate social responsibility

Starting off a new web log I am going to write about my observations related to the society we live in today.

There have been many interesting points in my life through which I have learnt about true way in which a person can live a happy life.

Today I was given a Mickey Mouse pillow by a nine-year-old neighbour of mine (Suki), whom I have taught to play piano and produce music. This pillow came all the way from Disney World in Paris.

Suki does not come from a rich family. Quite the contrary his mother, who is single, can hardly make financial ends meet apart from suffering from a plethora of illnesses.

I was so touched and made happy by the fact that they have thought of me while being at Disney World, that I am dedicating this blog post to that fact.

There is very much something called social capital which can fairly easily be built for a long period of time with little conserted effort.

I had taught Suki piano lessons for free and he and his mum appreciated it. I feel like giving more to them in order to try and help and inspire if I can at all! It makes them happy and it makes me happy. Its good for everyone.

Suki is a talented footballer and very good mathematician (I can tell that as I was one at his age), but suffers also from pretty severe sight problem, causing him to have to wear thick glasses.

I learn so much about business simply by working with every day people. I learn about treating people I work with respect and I also learn about being able to pick up tips and tricks (and new ways of thinking) from people who are much younger than myself, but are, nevertheless, future of this country and this World.

When are we all going to start seeing at least a little bit of a bigger picture?
