Discovering Second Life

Today I finally started playing the game Second Life to explore the possibilities present in that world.

Some of you will be aware of the media coverage of the game called Second Life, which is a virtual world where people can build property, sell things and explore a different world created by its virtual inhabitants.

I managed to get through the initial phase of the game and learn the basics of moving around the place. I even made my first friend called Justin in there!

Second Life is still a mistery to me, but I will try and dedicate some time to find out what its real values are.

This is interesting to me from the social software aspect of the game, web design aspect, business marketing aspect and also the game theory research which I am carrying out for my next book.

My game crashed after about 30 minutes (I think the usual excuse there is to blame Bill Gates and the Windows software). I suppose I will also need to try out the World Of Warcraft game and see how that differs from Second Life.

The world seems to moving in interesting directions and I am now learning about some very interesting new aspects of the modern society we live in.

What next is in stock for all of us?
