About Jason Grant
My name is Jason Grant and I am the owner of Flexewebs Ltd, a web design and business consultancy based in London, United Kingdom.
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and a Master’s Degree in Business Information Systems (BIS), so I have some insight into what the researchers are concluding will be the needs and requirements of big businesses of the future.
I have started this book with specific aims and objectives in order to share best practices for web development. Best practices are based on my research, experience, numerous discussions with developers and business owners and lots and lots of practice and listening.
My experience has been gained working on various size web projects from small 5 page sites, medium size CMS powered solutions, large sites and gigantic sites (world’s largest in it’s class).
This blog book is a constantly improving and emerging resource for those who are serious about web development and want to learn how to do it as well as possible.
Although I am predominantly a User Interface developer, I also develop using PHP and MySQL (LAMP) and am a fairly big fan of Code Igniter.
My strongest technologies are XHTML, CSS and PHP, while I am always trying to learn more JavaScript, XSLT and SQL.
I am pretty obsessed with matters like accessibility, usability and general software and information architecture, always wondering about how software can be improved, better created and more easily managed.
I am also an author of a book on business planning and another book on Search Engine Optimisation is in slowish progress of being written. I haven’t yet published them, but am planning to do so at some point in near future.
I am a big fan of fishing and Formula 1 and love my son and wife very much and want to have 101 children if I could at all, but will probably stick to 2 in reality.
I have also taken a few photographs in my life and can be found under the name of FlexeFlix when I am trying to be serious about it.
